Baby Division Scoring
The Baby Division (ages 0-3 as of January 1st) is a Photogenic and Donations Competition with the option to add on stage time with our Mini Model competition.
Photos will be judged using a combination of composition, background, lighting, and contestant's pose. Because River City Pageant is a natural pageant, contestants in the Baby Division (ages 0-3) must not have any makeup or noticeable retouching. Glamour shots like those used in glitz pageants will not score well in River City Photogenic. Photos must be submitted online.

Baby Contestants who donate a minimum of $50 and/or 5 swimsuits will receive the full 20 percent towards their age division pageant scores. Any amount over that will be scored additional points as follows:
Every $10 = 1 point
1 swimsuit = 1 point
The Spokane Parks Foundation's mission is to cultivate the health, growth and continued enjoyment of our communities by inspiring giving and passion for our parks. Donations collected by River City Pageant will go directly to the foundation to help with park renovation projects as well as their Make A Splash program. Monetary donations can be made online, but if you are going to bring in swimsuits, they must be delivered on pageant day no later than 4pm. Does your little one want a chance to strut their stuff in front of our judges? This Optional Competition can be added on to your registration if your Baby Division contestant (ages 3 and under) is capable of walking on their own and can follow directions well enough to stay on stage with minimal guidance from you.
Each contestant will have approximately 30 seconds to model their choice of either a formal wear, party dress, or Spokane Pride theme wear outfit. Contestants may create their own routine or use the X's on stage. Only props that can be carried and are part of the outfit (eg. umbrella, teddy bear, purse, etc.) can be used during the Mini Model presentation.
Mini Model Competition will take place directly after Kinders have finished Formal Wear Competition. Our current estimate for a start time is 4:15pm. Check-in for Baby Contestants is at 3:30pm, but Mini Model contestants may come and use the dressing room before check-in to get ready if they like.
If a Baby Contestant is verbal and would like to introduce themselves on stage, they may do so. We will be introducing all Baby contestants after Intermission. Baby trophy winners and crowning will immediately follow. So, it is a short and easy day for them. We encourage parents to dress their little ones up in formal wear type dress or a Spokane Pride theme outfit for on stage photos and crowning, but it is not required.
Babies do not need to be present to win, so if something comes up, just let us know! (You will just need to make sure your registration, photo and donations are in by April 10th.)
There are also going to be other fun things to do at the pageant including a craft and coloring table, a selfie station, games, hula-hoops, etc. So, feel free to come early if you like.
Baby title winner may participate in any royalty events that do not have an age requirement, including park clean-ups, royalty get-togethers, parades and other appearances.
NOTE FOR THREE YEAR OLDS: If your child turns 4 before the pageant and can compete on-stage without adult assistance, you may request to register for the Kinder Division (4-5yo: Petite Princess and Jr. Prince) Registration for Kinder division includes entry into Personal Introduction, On-Stage Question, Theme Wear, and Formal Wear competitions.

The Spokane Parks Foundation's Make-A-Splash in a Kid's Life program provides swimming opportunities to kids throughout Spokane County. Through generous donations from the community, the Make-A-Splash in a Kid's Life program has distributed thousands of summer pool passes and provided funding for swimming lesson scholarships and free swimsuits to kids in need!
